The thing with the Beresford is that its constantly being improved. I've had one of the early ones and I've recently bought the latest one, the Mark 6/4.
Very VERY different animal to my earlier Dac. I'd say go for it. Even email Stan Beresford and he'll send you out a loaner to try - he's that kind of guy. Try it, its far better than you'd expect, and who knows you might even save yourself some money in teh long run. There are of course better DACs out there, but at sensible levels (and I mean <£1k) its right up there. Theres a danger here of people posting their experiences of older versions of the DAC, not being as good as "X" etc. New ones extremely good, kick in the shirt off a Chrord I compared it with. A MILLION times better than teh internal Dac in the SB3.
