You should try 16/44.1 vs 24/44.1 - very interesting. I think 24 is
definitely "better". I agree that 16/44 is not as good as 24/x where x
>= 44!
:o)

I now understand what you are saying about the filters. Oversampling
allows the recovery filter in the DAC to work "perfectly" regardless of
replay frequency. The oversampling moves the filter frequency out of
harms way.

Anyway, you might find some blind tests with every combination of
rate/depth quite interesting! Also the effects of downsampling from a
higher resolution.

You want to see the signal path BEFORE it gets onto a CD/vinyl...it
ain't what you'd call minimal...SB3+Stontronics PSU - Altmann
JISCO/UPCI - TACT 2.2X (Linear PSU) + Good Vibrations S/W - MF
Triplethreat(Audiocom full mods)- Linn 5103 - Aktiv 5.1 system (6x
LK140's, ESPEK/TRIKAN/KATAN/SEIZMIK 10.5), Townsend Supertweeters,
Kimber & Chord cables
Outdoors: Boombox+Creative Sub (If I remember to turn it on...)
