Oh my impressions on the Transporter... I felt like I had a super setup to begin with Squeezebox3 and the BCD DAC3 but combining the Squeezebox and the DAC into a single chassis was worth pursuing. I gave the Transporter a good breakin period and sat down for some quality listening/comparing. My listening tastes are pretty eclectic but are on the main acoustic folk. I was a band geek in high school so I have my favorite classical pieces that I am very familiar with and use for comparitive listening. If a component can make Aaron Copeland's Appalachian Spring Suite sing and let me hear the instruments and voices of my favorite "folk" stuff then I'm sold. I can't give a blow by blow of my impressions from a year ago but I was willing to sell my Bel Canto and go with the Transporter were it not for the noise.
I am glad to hear the noise issue is resolved and I'm making preps for buying a Transporter. The Receiver and my iphone take away my need to see the display so it will be placed out of sight. I would have preferred a case that matched the space requirements of what's inside, a half width size would be perfect, but I'm not holding my breath. -- Suprlite7 Main ~ Duet-Bel Canto DAC3-Bel Canto Pre3-Bel Canto Ref1000s-Gallo Reference 3.1 Headphone ~ Duet-Glow Amp One-Sennheiser HD650 and Etymotic ER-4S ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Suprlite7's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=5461 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=57762 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
