Well, after a few hours of confusion, I have an easy solution that works for me: dBpoweramp has a sample rate conversion feature! I had missed it before because I hadn't activated it in the setup menu. So, I simply converted the 24/96 files to 24/48. If I ever get a dac with a 96kHz clock output, or a dac that deals with jitter internally such as the Playback Designs unit, I'll revert to the original files, but for now 48 is great.
