Is this a good thing? :) I love being categorised by people who don't know me! - What's all this "don't believe it unless I can measure it" twaddle? and "left brain"? I've been a musician for 30+ years, have played some reasonably serious gigs in my youth, spent 15 years in recording studios creating demos and writing/composing music and lyrics - is this left or right brain? I know what a good system sounds like IMHO. I know what real music sounds like IM not so HO. I don't believe that if you can't measure it it doesn't exist - rather that we haven't found the right measuring tools yet. That's why I started this. And I love the assumption about "a rather pedestrian sound card" - is 24/96 not good enough for them? - what the hell do they think was being used in studios until quite recently? I've spent more on soundcards over the years than many people spend on whole systems! I had one of the very first Digital Audio Labs SPDIF-Only cards in the UK. I've owned and used (for their time) top-spec RME, DA Labs, Echo, Apogee, M-Audio and Lynx cards/convertors. Anyway they are missing the whole point. Absolute quality is not the key here, it's repeatability to uncover the delta (if there is one).
