Keith - I was testing the SB3 analogue volume control. I'll test the
digital level soon. This test will be all about the popular hypothesis
that below a certain level (that few people agree on) there will be a
change in the sound that simple make-up gain cannot perfectly correct 
for (ignoring the raised noise floor of course) by boosting the level
since "some bits of information will be lost".

I'm going to try and find exactly where this happens...
