Keith - I was testing the SB3 analogue volume control. I'll test the digital level soon. This test will be all about the popular hypothesis that below a certain level (that few people agree on) there will be a change in the sound that simple make-up gain cannot perfectly correct for (ignoring the raised noise floor of course) by boosting the level since "some bits of information will be lost".
