Mr. O - you are completely correct. Test rig was 16/44 flac into SB3+DAC. Control recording at vol=100. Subsequent tests at 90/80/70/60/50/40/30 all gave a correlation depth of -78dB to -81dB with no music detectable in the difference tracks. Unless anyone can state a good reason otherwise, I think this disproves the myth that the digital level control "loses information"/ damages the music. As far as I can tell, it doesn't.
