Since the early 90s, nearly all PCs have a cheap analog to digital computer. AKA Soundcard. In recent years, they are built into the motherboard, in the olden days, it was a board by Creative Labs. They are not "good quality" but they are cheap and easy to find. Of course, you need a PC and it has to be running.
