sorry to ask a dumb question, but I would like to perfectly understand
your findings:

It makes no difference to use "fixed digital volume" or "Volume at
100", the SNR only increases with decreasing the volume via the digital
volume control.

==> if this is true I can at least have the digital volume control for
non active listening sessions what would be great.
