I would recomend anything but a switched amp conventional amps still provides less distortion less noise and lower output impedance and better damping factor. I think Bryston puplished a white paper on that regarding the hype with class-D amps
Switched, class D amps wins hands down when it comes to efficiency size and price/watt. The really packs a punch if need an awfull lot of power in a small package and they are greener. I'm partial to brystons view of it. http://bryston.com/newsletters/74_files/vol7is4.html Even if they nowdays produce class D amps, i think they have an 8 ch multi room amp with it. I live in small town consequently I never had a chance to hear the Gallo speaker's so i have no specific recommendation, but buy from established quality brands, that can take care of warranty and service, and have good reputation for product quality. Don't go by what is most hyped this week in the press. -- Mnyb ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Mnyb's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=4143 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=56628 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/audiophiles
