I think the price difference of the TP vs SB3 in terms of digital output is not worth it (having extensively compared both via SPDIF and noticing no difference) , however if you want to use AES/EBU then the TP is required. The TP is a nice tool , especially with its effects loop and its rca and XLR balamced outputs as well as its ability to act as a peramp with its variable attenuators. I don't particularily like the TP's dac's sonics and am currently auditioning a PS audio perfect wazve dac with it.
