Certainly not, and these were not only my opinions. Unbelievable as it might seem, the Edirol USB interface + the DAC in Meridian 808i sounded better in another test compared to a CD played on the same Meridian 808i. Anyway, the Edirol USB interface did not really sound good on its own, to really make it shine one must use a heavily optimized laptop running on battery mode, and some special setting in foobar to buffer the whole track in the memory.
