I think you will definitely notice the difference with a good headphone amp and 'phones of this quality, even without a dedicated DAC. A dedicated DAC would be a further upgrade. I currently use a Creek OBH-11 with Sennheiser 650s. I've been thinking of getting a Musical Fidelity V-Can and V-Dac.
