For hi-def, Alpha is very very good. and the other strong part of
Berkeley Alpha is playing red book cd which is very natural, accuracy,
full of details, dynamic, and very musical.
I use custom made Siltech IQ80 rca - bnc wire (didn't buy new digital
wire) and I don't have AES/EBU wire to compare.
Berkeley Alpha has very deep and wide sound stage and very focus also.
