i read your position as seeing my reaction to the changes i hear from my cable as primarily placebo or the result of some deficiency in the design of the dac. i also read that you believe the spdif interface should sound better than the aes3 interface. the other side of your position seems to be a discounting of the idea that the cable is actually a very good design that does in fact work, that many of the problems discussed here can actually be solved in the cable design and that the advice to use the aes3 interface may have been good advice.
your comment about "taking money from me" really made no sense to me. you suggested i take sean adams advice but not michael ritter's? i guess you were trying to suggest ritter is out to steer me wrong in an effort to pad his pocket? dunno.... no...i have not done a scientific double blind test. nor did i when i bought my speakers, amplifiers, speaker wire, interconnects, dac, sub, power cords, transport etc. i have used some other ears i trust to help me along the way. one in particular, with a 16 year background in high end audio, recently told me this was by far the best digital reproduction he has ever heard. he must be experiencing the same placebo i am. i'm glad it's for the better! i am well aware of the power of the mind and spent many professional years in that area. given your profession it would seem you have exposure to mit cables. why not take the opportunity to give a listen to the ma-x line. i think the ic and speaker cables have as profound an impact so give them a listen too. i would be curious to know what you think. sorry you struggle reading my lack of interest in the shift key. -- richardw ------------------------------------------------------------------------ richardw's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=32135 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=76895 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/audiophiles
