What we do with VortexBox is rip everything to FLAC then "mirror" to mp3 and ALAC. The mirroring process keeps the other file types up to date so if you make changes to your FLACs (id3 tags, cover art, etc) the mp3s and ALAC files will reflect the changes. Keeping everything synced makes it much easier to keep everything organized.
