I got onto this train of thought because I was messing around with
Inguz. It occurred to me that once you have a computer running SBS you
have a fantastic amount of processing power available without having to
buy separate products or have additional potentially degrading
connections. Since I use 2 stereo amps bridged to mono, I wouldn't have
to get an additional amp to work it.

Incidentally I saw your posting some time ago to the effect that using
a Behringer was more time --cost-effective than Inguz which you were
undoubtedly right about (as far as it does the same thing). However it
struck me that once one is doing the DRC measurements, there would be
no additional hassle if an SBS plug-in were to do the cross-over
correction at the same time.

As a matter of interest why can't the two streams be simultaneous- as I
understand it 2 devices can be synched- or is the problem that the
ethernet steams to the two players will "flow" at different rates?

It may be that the Behringer DCX 2496 would do the trick as X-over and
DAC, but it involves an extra box doing the processing . Much though i
would love it I can't see the double squeezebox coming off. But in
principle perhaps a similar result could be obtained with a computer
using 2 usb outputs- subject to the synchronisation problem.
