As noted before, to the extent that any "break-in" adjustment is
psychologically occurring at the subliminal level, it is hardly
surprising that a person would have different responses to different
pieces of gear or that one person would not react the same as another
to the same item. 

There could also be technical reasons due to design or parts selection
that might cause one piece of equipment to age differently than
another, but I suspect that is somewhat overblown as the root cause in
most situations.

It is rather ironic, but I've observed the more subjective a person is
in their approach to audio, the more insistent they are there must be a
physical cause of their perceptions. Sometimes it seems the
subjectivists are almost embarrassed to admit their perceptions are
also influenced by subjective factors.  ;-)
