Pardon me if I'm a little brash in my feelings on the matter...but this
is where I get off the audiophile bus.

It's really all about price. Come clean with me. If this ASUS unit
were priced at let's say...$3000, it would be safe to assume that folks
would DEFINITELY be interested. Yes? So let's put this device in a
billet aluminum chassis (with a monstrous power cord), and call it the
ASUS Reference. Perhaps the "Statement" or something to that effect.
Maybe $3000 is too low. $7500 might make a bigger splash.

None of us have heard the thing, and maybe it sucks. Then again,
maybe it's really good! Get it on the bench and first...prove to me
that the DAC is doing something. If it turns in a run of the mill DAC
resolution performance...then nobody cares. Before I buy a standalone
DAC...it needs to outperform the Transporter DAC resolution, and so
far...I haven't seen any tests that prove anyone does.

It's just about audiophiles picking apart products that none of us have
heard which grinds me.

Rant over. :(
