I think the Touch is great product! It gets the bits from the computer to the rig as well as any server system can. What is a fact, is that the DAC is not SOTA. It was never intended to be. Many great minds have been working tirelessly on creating affordable DAC's as of late - especially the USB type. I'm not talking about the eye candy mega bux stuff.
I bought the V-DAC from Audio Advisor on a whim. I thought it sounded horrible! I even gave it a chance to "break in". I sent it back after about 2 weeks. No dice - no comparison to the Transporter. When I bought the Transporter I felt that if a computer company like Logitec was charging $2K for a product they had to have a reason. They dont have the bling to get bucks for their name etc. I still feel that way. Thats how you spend a chunk of change and not regret it after the bling wears off! Another company I would trust - Wyrd4sound. -- earwaxer9 System: modified Winsome Labs Mouse, modified Maggie MMG's, Transporter, HSU sub 12, MSB DAC to 500 watt sub slave amp, JPS labs power cords, Silver audio interconnect, Audioquest Granite speaker cable. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ earwaxer9's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=39527 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=87286 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/audiophiles
