They better get input from recording profesionals than audiophiles, they
may know a thing or to on how things really sound.

30 years off listening to flawed audio euqipment in sub optimal
acoustic's is some kind of experience, but it hardly makes you suited
to judge a products acuracy . so the typical lifelong audiophile
experience is not worth much, before you flame me some audiphiles
actually goes to live performances of live music but thats an excepting
modern lifes makes to litle time for live music.

so a pro spending 40hr weeks listening to minute details over and over
again when rocding or mixing should have much better ideas on what
things really sounds like.

Myself ? I would not take the jobb if it was offered to little real
experience, I would choose my own equipment from select brands of
engineered stuff, but thats how far i trust myself.

Making a tranparent reproducing dac is a good goal in an engineering
practice as the goal is well defined.

making something sound " good " takes you to the twilligth zone where
anything goes real or not
