Nothing controversial here... it's JUST engineering, not voodoo. It's
not like the problem domain isn't bounded. There's a signal encoded on
a CD/in a pcm file - recreate that as accurately as possible as far
down the audio chain as you can....

ain't what you'd call minimal...
