Just bought and modified my Touch with the latest version of the toolbox and it works great. Have also forked out for a new DAC and everything seemed to be working fine using the digital output (S/PDIF) from the Touch to the DAC input until I used the toolbox to enter TTOUT -d that introduced crackling when using the navigation sound affects (not during playback). Issuing the TTOUT -n command and turning back on all outputs cures the problem.
