The philosophy of the TT mods is to turn off everything that is not needed, which includes the effects process. Now its certainly possible to do an in between version where you turn off one of the main outputs (analog or digital) but leave the effects process running, but that's not part of TT2.0.
You can log into the Touch and see what the various things do and hack up an in between version if you really want it.
