Be warned that just because a USB DAC has an asyncronous interface does NOT mean its immune to whats going on in the computer. I have one that sounds pretty bad on my laptop but sounds great on the Touch. To get it to sound even close to what it does on the Touch takes a LOT off effort tweaking things on the laptop. And even at its best is still not nearly as good as it sounds on the Touch.
Just be prepared that you will still need to tweak and play with things in order to get the best sound, EVEN if you have an async USB DAC.
