Ah, there we go then - that puts the spanner in the works for me then - no point in me using my netbook if it won't sound nearly as good as the Touch seeing as my only goal is the best quality sound I can muster! Looking back on John's expertise from reading bits and bobs on this site I'm not going to argue with him (because I guess he has not got a vested interest in the SB and he doesn't get back-handers from Logitech for saying good things about them). So in effect I guess this means the innards of the SB 'computer' is better designed in terms of being a more electrically quiet environment compared to something like a netbook even with the netbook running from the battery! I can see what you mean about electrical noise passing through to the async DAC and polluting the innards of the DAC (despite the advantages of async). However, won't galvanic isolation mentioned by Phil put a stop to transferring the noise over? Or are their limitations with that implementation too? -- stop-spinning ------------------------------------------------------------------------ stop-spinning's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=43254 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=88181 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/audiophiles
