Yes, note the following from my earlier comment: "However, all of that said, I do keep my amp's analog input volume control at a position that allows me keep the Touch's level at or near 100 for a "listening session". That also keeps the Touch's playback volume in the top half of its range for most background music." The only time this gets a bit tricky is when you're using the Squeezebox straight into an amp that has no input level control. I used to have a Duet that ran straight to a Dynaco ST-70. I simply built a set of RCA cables with resistors built into the cable. 100% volume on the Duet was very loud, but the resistors kept the volume out of speaker-blowing territory. Background listening was still easily accomplished with the Duet's digital volume still in the top half of its range. Using resistors in the cable also allow for a much more precise balance between channels than you normally get with even a good potentiometer. -- mlsstl ------------------------------------------------------------------------ mlsstl's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=9598 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=89228 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/audiophiles
