Oh yea, all these discussions turns very academic no one considers actual recordings and thier built in limits , like HDcrap that sell old analog masters that are well inside the scope of 16/44.1 or 16/48 and can be fully represented by that, they may very well be in a dire need for good remaster, but thats not how they are sold . A case could be made that you for some reasons needs more than 16/44.1 /48 . But there is no for example 20/55 format in use next "standard" formats seems to be 24/88.2 /96 ok so we use that. It also have healty slush margins for human errors, you may argue that no profesional sound enginer would do any gross error. But i feel that era of the profesional sound engineer is gone ( for other reasons another topic ). And historically how many recordings don't have some kind of mistake in them. it migth be if you do everything "perfect" 16/44.1 would do it, but not many things are excetud perfectly. -- Mnyb -------------------------------------------------------------------- Main hifi: Touch + CIA PS +MeridianG68J MeridianHD621 MeridianG98DH 2 x MeridianDSP5200 MeridianDSP5200HC 2 xMeridianDSP3100 +Rel Stadium 3 sub.
