Oh yea, all these discussions turns very academic no one considers
actual recordings and thier built in limits , like HDcrap that sell old
analog masters that are well inside the scope of 16/44.1 or 16/48 and
can be fully represented by that, they may very well be in a dire need
for good remaster, but thats not how they are sold .

A case could be made that you for some reasons needs more than 16/44.1
/48 .

But there is no for example 20/55 format in use next "standard" formats
seems to be 24/88.2 /96 ok so we use that.

It also have healty slush margins for human errors, you may argue that
no profesional sound enginer would do any gross error.
But i feel that era of the profesional sound engineer is gone ( for
other reasons another topic ).
And historically how many recordings don't have some kind of mistake in
them. it migth be if you do everything "perfect" 16/44.1 would do it,
but not many things are excetud perfectly.
