*rgro* is right, of course, about Ethernet being preferable to WiFi.

However, sometimes one does not have a close by Ethernet connection.

Which brings me to the obvious question I forgot to ask you: Were you
able to connect to your WLAN prior to installing TT3.0?

To test this connection, do a factory reset. In the Touch, select the
"Wireless" option & enter the appropriate WEP or other security key
(password). If the Touch then successfully connects to your router via
WLAN, play some music. If it plays, *then and only then*, install
TT3.0. It should now work fine wirelessly, provided "modification WLAN"
is disabled.
