Hmm, haven't noticed that. Listened to Thomas Dolby's remastered "Flat Earth" CD last night, treble sounded super sweet, almost too sweet, and the exact opposite of harshness. Also, listened to Michel Petrucciani "Looking Up", his piano sounded crystal clear, like cold drops of water falling on ice, the cymbals are simmering quite nicely, the bass throbbing deeply in the nether regions, like fat greasy panda rolling in a pool full of sharks. On the other hand, I played Bach's double violin concerto that I've ripped off some dollar bin DDD CD produced in the 80s, man that sounded terrible. The violins were so metallic, I had to take it off. But it's the shoddy recording and mastering, not the SBT.
