While I agree in principle, in reality things are a bit different. What
I mean is that although the TAS computer music series is complete
rubbish many people will take this very scientific looking nonsense as
somehow valid and some of these ridiculous "findings" are in danger of
becoming accepted dogma in high end audio circles since, after all, no
less an authority than The Absolute Sound published the series.

For example, I was recently discussing many of these issues with an
audiophile friend of mine who happens to have worked as a vice
president for IT for several very large firms. While he agreed that
most of the information in the computer music was nonsense he did
believe that a more expensive USB cable would work better than a less
expensive USB cable even if the less expensive cable met the minimum
USB cable specifications.

What I'm afraid will happen as a result of the publication of this
garbage is that some of this misinformation will slowly become general
audiophile knowledge (I use the term "knowledge" very loosely) and then
become an accepted "truth". Basically FUD of the highest order.
