But it is definitely an obsolete model and won't get any more support. Buying one now doesn't make any sense to me - if mine blew up tomorrow it would be replaced with a Touch and suitable DAC.
But you are in a somewhat unique position. Accuphase gear is fabulous. I would not be surprised if the DAC in your CD player is easily the equal of any modern DAC you could buy for less than silly money. It may even have a characteristic sound that you would be disappointed to lose. So what if you never use the CD player part of the device?
