For comparison to the image in the 1st message (which I thought was DSD128 sourced), here's a comparison of what DSD64 conversion to PCM at 24/192 looks like. It's an image of the spectrum from Martin Pearlman & Boston Baroque's rendition of Haydn's "The Creation" released by Linn last year.
Notice the rise in noise gradually from 20-25kHz with a peak at -55dB around 60kHz. Nasty. Poor resampling algorithms like native Windows mixer adds a scratchy sound to the playback presumably because it's not filtering this stuff out. This should really have been filtered out by whatever DSD -> PCM conversion software they're using!
