Yeas but if it ( by some unlikely fluke, messing with your equipment ) sounds *different* it must be better rigth ;) even if I as an audiophile has no idea how the recording really sounded in the first place . I think 24/88.2 and 24/96 is the ultimate max resolutions needed for home listening ( recording is a separate topic ). These are sensible compromises the extreme limit of human hearing may need 20bits/50 kHz claimed by bob Stuart of meridian , how much " fact" this is I not really able to tell , could be their in house research, but Meridian speakers are " limited " to 24/96 . But what about future development of the art of home listening to music ? Well it is not about hifi we get back on this topic when we can upgrade our ears and brain system (20kHz limit = xx/48kHz ) and PM when we have -144dB DAC performance ( 24bit limit ) so claiming that a product is " limited " to 24/96 is just plain silly . ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Mnyb's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=4143 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=98044 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/audiophiles
