Yeas but if it ( by some unlikely fluke, messing with your equipment )
sounds *different* it must be better rigth ;) even if I as an audiophile
has no idea how the recording really sounded in the first place .

I think 24/88.2 and 24/96 is the ultimate max resolutions needed for
home listening ( recording is a separate topic ).
These are sensible compromises the extreme limit of human hearing may
need 20bits/50 kHz claimed by bob Stuart of meridian , how much " fact"
this is I not really able to tell , could be their in house research,
but Meridian speakers are " limited " to 24/96 .

But what about future development of the art of home listening to music
? Well it is not about hifi we get back on this topic when we can
upgrade our ears and brain system (20kHz limit = xx/48kHz ) and PM when
we have -144dB DAC performance ( 24bit limit ) so claiming that a
product is " limited " to 24/96 is just plain silly .
