I don't have that many Hi-Rez recordings. What ever I have i bought it mainly for those non-theoretical reasons (and continue to). There is some theoretical benefits to 24bit. But as I mentioned earlier in some other thread I have heard some RedBook recordings as good as Hi-Rez.
