I know you know this! But to make it clear to all, when people hear differences due to psychological factors they do actually hear a difference, so the phrase "think you hear a difference" is somewhat misleading in these discussions. Hence the term "placebo effect" rather than "placebo illusion"...the placebo effect can actually help cure geniune illness. How much more easily can it cause you to genuinely hear a difference in sound. The only question under consideration is the source of the differences heard...whether they are due to the playback system or the placebo effect.
