Sure, but that's the point of the little demo. These days with a very modest budget ($200 AUNE X1 DAC), jitter from the computer software/load side doesn't really matter! The hardware interface is what matters (which would include the Wolfson WM8805 SPDIF receiver in the AUNE). What "simple DAC" would you recommend?
