I, for one, would welcome the opportunity to revise my current understanding based on properly-conducted, repeatable tests, as it would open up a whole new, and fascinating, area for research and discussion.

Again, please post the specifics. Various things would need to be ruled out, not least the possibility of the masters being different, and perceptual/psychological bias.
