1. Happy to look at any references like Darrell mentioned. Remember, undocumented opinions don't really go far in these discussions so I tend to shy away from them in these debates. 2. I'm interested in accuracy, not "good sound" since that implies a judgment of experience which I obviously cannot be a judge of for anyone else. I've laid this principle out on my blog a few times. I want a well engineered piece of audio hardware that does what it's supposed to with mathematical precision as laid out in sampling theory - precise conversion of bits to corresponding sound waves with the electrical intermediary which can be measured. If something is bit-perfect, then, there is a precise electrical pattern which should correspond and be measurable. 3. Sure, you do a Google search, you'll find comments about this - just like almost everything else... But over the years, the relative amount of concern shown seems less than expected especially given the importance of timing when it comes to DAC's needing to perform decompression and conversion in the MHz range. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Archimago's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2207 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=98630 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/audiophiles
