I'm not absolutely sure what you mean, Julf. The thread title is
Transporter replacement. I take this to mean a one box, LMS streamer
with a state of the art dac (plus pretty comprehensive connectivity
which the transport had by the standards of its time). This M-dac 2 L4
looks to me to be something like that. 

Of course one could argue that an SBT connected to a dac is the same
thing. Or indeed an Rpi.  The point is that it is hoped that it can be
designed to give something like a turnkey solution which is one box and
also has enough of the support base to ensure it stays working without
individual users having to mess around with tweaking linux. It's worth
bearing in mind that the  idea is to do more than just have music
playing software, but to have an interface which will enable one to get
right under the hood of the dac as well, which would not be that case
with say a Cubox connected via usb.
