I'm not absolutely sure what you mean, Julf. The thread title is Transporter replacement. I take this to mean a one box, LMS streamer with a state of the art dac (plus pretty comprehensive connectivity which the transport had by the standards of its time). This M-dac 2 L4 looks to me to be something like that.
Of course one could argue that an SBT connected to a dac is the same thing. Or indeed an Rpi. The point is that it is hoped that it can be designed to give something like a turnkey solution which is one box and also has enough of the support base to ensure it stays working without individual users having to mess around with tweaking linux. It's worth bearing in mind that the idea is to do more than just have music playing software, but to have an interface which will enable one to get right under the hood of the dac as well, which would not be that case with say a Cubox connected via usb. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ adamdea's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=37603 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=100948 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/audiophiles
