That's it in a nutshell. The DNLA protocol simply does not work or
rather I should say does not work as advertised. Sure one can go and
browse through a directory (aka folder) and select something to watch,
view or listen to, as I can do with my WD TV Live streaming device but
any type of simple search or basic media library management is a
non-starter. Which of course goes a long way towards explaining why 1)
many people use the iTunes/AirPlay/Apple TV combo and 2) many people
don't stream but instead use the good old computer -> USB -> USB DAC ->
stereo method. Kind of sucks.
