a 24/96 or 24/192 file is not bit-identical to a 16/44.1 file.* So the
"bits are bits" idea is not relevant in this context. Whether a 24/192
file sounds better than its 16/44.1 counterpart is a different question,
and typically only true if the *mastering* of the two versions is
different.

*assuming that someone doesn't simply take a 16/44.1 file and convert it
to 24/192.
