It is about time someone realized just how poorly conceived it was. They have no specific topic identified, but have charged me with finding something relevant and interesting to their group which incorporates internal audit concepts. Some ideas I had initially are to talk about risk management (not different from what we do daily) and relate it to how they provide risk management services, too. Does anyone have any other ideas or presentations they may have made which would be relevant? In view of the issues associated with Sarbanes Oxley, and the fact that it affects everything across the board - financial and non-financial, a risk management discussion would seem apropos. I've been doing a lot of investigating on SOX to write a white paper in plain English, and it seems to be the number one topic of discussion for most C-Level executives. Hence, it should be of top concern for HR as well. Perhaps the Complaint Notifications (a/k/a "Whistle Blower") aspects of risk management may be appropriate. Good luck.
