Why do you (or people) think CVS as 'unstable snapshot?' As I wrote in README file, I am trying keep CVS as stable version and think it is 'release.' I call it 'Monday release'. Anyway I, an aufs developer, don't mind that you make a tarball and put it on your public ftp server. But I'd recommend you to wait for next Monday release since I already found a bug in the version 20080218.
