[aus-soaring] Avalon - Kooka Displayed - Where's the Rest?

Drew McKinnie again Avalon was / is great, and it will be a huge success I'm sure Manfred Radius' Salto aeros are awesome...   Looking elsewhere, I found a Short-Wing Kooka from VIC ATC Cadets on display in a corner behind the main entrance, sort of out of the main thoroughfare - There was no GFA stand anywhere - I understand from a colleague that GFA were approached for a display but the asking price from the airshow management may have been too steep GFA doesn't have the mega-resources of defence and aviation industry players...   At the time of my departure, there were plenty of sports and GA aircraft, ultralights also - but no motorgliders (nearest thing to that was the Global Hawk UAV), no Stemme S10s, no Turbo Open Class ships, no contemporary glass sailplanes, not even a well-used Jantar like the one we put on display at the Queanbeyan 4WD Show the other day...   A pity - a great promotional opportunity, probably lost :-( Drew
