Hi Terry
I am highly computer illiterate but I think I am using Outlook 9.0.0.3821. Thats what it says in the "about" section under the "help" menu. It all seems to work quite well from  this end. Let me know if I could change any settings to make your life easier.
Regards
Jay Anderson

Subject: Re: [aus-soaring] FAA license - well not exactly

Dear Gliding Friends,

This has nought to do with gliding.   It's a computer/browser/mail program question....

My browser software of choice is the Netscape Communicator package - currently I'm using version 4.74 and Messenger (the mail part of that suite) handles most challenges offered from this list and elsewhere with ease.

However it seems to have an issue with the messages which come from Jay Anderson.  After I have read Jay's message(s) it will not flag them as having been read, but continues to show them as being unread, by showing them in bold print in the message list, and displaying them in the Unread Message count in the Inbox.  The only way I can convince Messenger that I've read them is to delete them.

This is a qirk which has not been seen with mail from anyone else on this list, others or elsewhere.

I don't think Jay is doing anything wrong, but I'm curious to know whether anyone else has encountered this interesting anomaly.  The detective in me also causes me speculate what mail program Jay is using.  I wonder if he could satisfy my curiosity please?

Thanks in advance,
Terry
