Rubbish, the quote is quite accurate. Outlook in it effort to make thinks 
'easy' for the average user runs whatever executable come it's way.  At 
least some other e-mail clients do not.  I use Pegasus Mail, a free mail 
client and I am yet to experience a single mail virus.  If you must use 
outlook then I agree, the latest AV software is vital.
