G'day All,

Just had another win for australian gliding! I approached my local paper
today (Central Telegraph that comes out each week) regarding a number of
articles on Soaring in Australia over a 3-6 month period. I've got a
meeting with the local journo tomorrow afternoon to start on this project.

My thoughts on the articles are to have one on gliding in general in
Australia, Adam's Quest to the Junior Worlds in the UK featuring: George
Lee's advance XC course, 1st Aus Junior Nats in Temora (www.joeyglide.com),
Waikerie Club Class Nats and the lead up to the Junior Worlds in Hus Bos
2005!

Hopefully these articles in the local rag over a period of time will talk
to people and let them see that gliding a sport that you can meet alot of
people, and take you places in the world!

I've come to the conclusion that if we want our sport to thrive like it
does in the UK and Germany, at least one person from each club needs to
take the initiative to promote gliding in their area, and not just assume
someone else will do it! We need to make the oppertunities for ourselves!

In the past 3 months I've organised sponsorship for the junior nats,
incentive vouchers for a free launch at the local gliding club, fliers
around the town and now the local paper! I'm hoping to write a few words
in the sports section each week letting everyone know of the flights flown
on the weekend!

Regards,
Adam Woolley
