If you are troubled by John's messages, just set
your e-mail program to auto-delete messages from [EMAIL PROTECTED] If you need
guidance on how to do that, contact me off-list and I'll step you through
it.
The person in supreme power here is extremely
generous in running this list for us anyway, without being asked to
spend more labour on it coping with things that are not of his doing - and with
which we can cope ourselves anyway.
Personally I think John's messages are
amusing. Not only that, they taught me that the 02 7xxx xxxx phone number
sequence is now in use. When poor John returns he will be puce with
embarrassment and we can all demand a comprehensive description of his time
away.
I am out of the office myself as it happens, in a
747 just North of Tehran. Expect further bulletins as the flight
progresses

In other lists I belong to/manage, there is an option for the moderator to suspend or terminate message delivery to a member for whatever reason.
