Don’t laugh.

In an office I worked at, someone sent a message to practically everyone in the company. Needless to say several peeps had ‘reply to all’ in setting up their ‘Out of Office’ reply.

It only took about 3 seconds to crash the mail server as replies replied to replies.

Took a lot longer to sort out the mess.

(and no, it was not a Micro$oft product)

    I think John's automatic email advice is now responding to itself that he is out of the Office in reply to his "out of the Office" emails.

Sigh  .....   Gee, I hope John gets back soon ...



In other lists I belong to/manage, there is an option for the moderator to
suspend or terminate message delivery to a member for  whatever
reason.   If  this list management software has such an option,
perhaps someone in a position of supreme power can invoke this for John's mail
delivery until he reaches civilization again ...?
